Persistent Cough
Persistent cough has many possible reasons. The most common explanation is a viral infection. But if the cough persists or recurs, it could be a sign of another type of infection.

Take a hot shower and inhale the steam. This will help soothe your throat. If you can’t sleep due to coughing, put several pillows below your head so it is raised a little. You can also take some menthol or mint flavored hard candy. They can soothe store throats.
Drinking plenty of water will help remove the mucous in the body. Some people also find it helpful to use a vaporizer. Drinking tea also helps if you have recurrent cough. They provide moisture for the throat.
How to Prevent Persistent Cough
If it’s due to allergy, take the necessary protection. If you have to clean dust, wear a mask. Stay away from people who smoke. If you’re a smoker, you should quit. You should also take vitamins, especially A, C and E.
You can also mix carrot juice with some honey. Take a few sips of these throughout the day. A healthy body also keeps cough away, so exercising regularly is highly recommended.
